The event was a big success in 2009 with more than 600 cans of food and over $440 collected!
Each year near Halloween the men of Iota Gamma sponsor a haunted house. We spend a week transforming the first two levels of our building into a hauntingly scary house. The cost of attendance is either $2 or 2 can goods and all proceeds go to the Jubilee Center of Kearney.
The choice of rooms varies by year and the individual members of the house decide the theme of their room. Rooms in the past included: a Saw theme room, ouija board, zombies, and the famous polka dot room, just to name a few. We finish the whole house off with chainsaw men at the end for a good final scare.
Tour guides from sororities on campus lead the spectators through the house. As this is a family event, the tour guides inform the members of the age group approaching the room so they can alter how scary their room is. Children of all ages are welcome and we do our best to ensure that the room is appropriate for their age level.
