I'm Bill Hayward and I am currently a senior at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Academically, I am double majoring in accounting and management information systems. As a freshman, on move-in day, I made an impulse decision in deciding to join Pi Kappa Alpha. In hindsight, choosing to do so has easily been the greatest decision of my college career. I've already been able to generate many life-long friendships and personally develop in a way that just isn't offered anywhere else. It's hard to imagine how much my college experience would have been suppressed had I not become a Pike.
As a business major, the organizational structure of the fraternity has given me exposure to an environment that in many aspects is very similar to that of a business. This inherent quality of the fraternity has already "paid dividends" as I've been able to gain a hands-on understanding of how an organization functions. In addition, I've been able to apply my acquired knowledge while interning. As an undergraduate I've had the opportunity to work at AEGON (one of the world's largest life insurance companies) and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Having already participated in executive board meetings, attended chapter meetings, and held many positions in the house, the move into the business world has been an easier transition.
Some campus groups that I am involved with are: Association of Information Technology Professionals, Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, Order of Omega, Student Senate, and Chancellor's Ambassador.
I have a passion for Husker football, Mariners baseball, Diet Mt. Dew, hunting, fishing, tennis, basketball, football, tennis, baseball, sushi, reading a good quote, and driving long distances....oh, and Big City Burrito.
