The 2010 event raised over $1,100 for The World Theatre effort! Be prepared for us to turn this into an annual event.
The Iota Gamma chapter participated in fundraising for The World Theatre in downtown Kearney. Screenwriter Jon Bokenkamp has taken over The World Theatre in hopes that he will resurrect the theatre into the next spot for college students and others in the community to watch movies. His preliminary plan, once the building has been renovated, is to show movies at a reduced cost, while providing drinks and other concession items at an affordable price. In order for this to happen, The World Theatre is needing to raise $400,000 to make the required renovations.
In order to help Jon Bokenkamp and The World Theatre, Iota Gamma hosted two fundraising events. The first event was a video game tournament titled "The World Theatre Presents: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2" and the second event was a movie night titled "Greeks Save the World Theatre".
Team Boss Hogs won the team tournament. The team consisted of: Connor Slagle, Justin Harms, Blake Frazzini, and Ross Frazzini.
